We all know what Andreas Christensen is all about. He reads the game supremely, he’s got enough pace to get out of sticky situations, and his technique is great. You probably didn’t realise just how great though His supreme performance against Swansea was enough to earn him a place in Goal’s team of the week, and they pointed out that he’s achieved something pretty impressive against the Welsh side.
The youngster had played 45 passes, and completed… 45 of them. So unruffled were his feathers by Wilfried Bony’s attempts at closing down that he didn’t misplace a single effort. Renato Sanches managed 8 or 9 in the first half alone. He was superb defensively too, and one is just so confident whenever the ball is near him. Even with quick players running at him, he keeps his body position perfectly poised and knows when to commit and when to keep backing off. the best part is, he’s still getting better.
