Chelsea got their Europa League campaign off to a winning start tonight as they travelled to face PAOK Thessaloniki. With the game's only goal coming via Willian, it is with Pedro that the thoughts of most Chelsea fans were with post-match. Caught in a nasty collision late on the game, the Spaniard took a painful looking knee to his head. Colliding with the onrushing PAOK 'keeper, the former Barcelona man was left requiring immediate treatment.
With many suspecting what condition Pedro was in, there was a degree of uncertainty whether or not that 'keeper had collided with his head, or potentially the Spaniard's shoulder. Facing up to the press conference in the aftermath of tonight's win, the first question Maurizio Sarri faced unsurprisingly concerned Pedro, and his current condition. Although he like most watching was concerned that the injury was serious, the Italian confirmed that things may not have been quite as bad as they initially seemed. Maurizio Sarri has arrived for his post-match press conference and starts by reporting on Pedro's shoulder injury which he says is 'probably not a very serious injury'. Describing the injury as 'probably not very serious,' Chelsea fans will be hopeful that the flying winger is back in the starting XI sooner rather than later.
As for Chelsea generally, that 1-0 win was only enough to place them second in Group L for the time being. In the group's other game, BATE Borisov beat the Hungarian side Videoton 2-0. Next up for Sarri's men is a home tie against the Hungarian club currently propping up the group. Click here to Join the whatsapp group for ALL CHELSEA NEWS
