Arsenal supporters have been reasonably upbeat in recent times after seeing their team get their Europa League group stage campaign underway with victory at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night. Unai Emery’s men went into their meeting with Ukrainian side Vorskla Poltava off the back of three straight wins in the Premier League, the most recent of which a 2-1 victory at Newcastle United at the weekend. And the Gunners made it four wins on the trot in all competitions in North London on Thursday as a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well as goals from Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil inspired Emery’s side to a comfortable 4-2 success, thus getting their European campaign off to the perfect start. As such, there have been many thrilled Arsenal fans up and down the country in recent times, many of whom took to Twitter both during and indeed after the game to rave about the performance of midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The 22-year-old made the move to the Emirates Stadium during the summer after three years in Italy with top-flight side Sampdoria, yet he had failed to start any of their five matches prior to the visit of Vorskla Poltava on Thursday night.
