Liverpool star Roberto Firmino says he feels no pressure to keep pace with the goal tally of team-mate Mohamed Salah and insists they are very much focussed on the collective effort. Salah has been a sensation since his £39million summer move from Roma, scoring 36 goals in all competitions including an astonishing 28 in just 30 Premier League appearances. Firmino's return of 23 goals would have made many more headlines if it were not for his Egyptian team-mate, but he is more than happy for Salah to hog the headlines if it means Liverpool keep winning.
When asked if he was under pressure to keep up with Salah's goal tally, he told Goal: 'No way! We have very good chemistry here at Liverpool. 'Many speak of the strength of our attack, which also has [Sadio] Mane, but we have a team full of great quality that is effective in attack. 'We have to think collectively. The more players score, the better. Liverpool are the ones who win in this situation.' Salah's incredible form, including a four-goal haul against Watford last weekend, has helped Anfield forget about the acrimonious departure of Philippe Coutinho, who agitated a £138m move to Barcelona in January. After initial fears that Liverpool would struggle without the diminutive playmaker, Liverpool's results have actually improved and Firmino revealed they had to change the way they played when he left for Spain. He added: 'We changed the way we played after his exit. Which team in the world would not like to have a player of the quality of Coutinho? But he continued his life at Barcelona and Liverpool remained strong, as we always were.'
