The Mirror say the Red Devils chief has been given the green light to secure his services. Sandro, 26, has been repeatedly linked with a move to Chelsea. However, Antonio Conte’s woes in the transfer market could be set to continue if Mourinho gets his way. It’s suggested the Portuguese will look to get Matteo Darmian off the books in January. His departure will free up space in the squad for Sandro’s potential arrival. United are also eyeing Tottenham defender Danny Rose who is widely expected to leave north London.
Sandro is regarded as one of Europe’s finest full-backs. Chelsea bid around £70m for his signature in the summer but a move failed to materialise. Leonardo Bonucci’s departure to AC Milan meant the Old Lady were reluctant to lose another key player. Since moving to Italy from Porto in 2015, Sandro has made 92 appearances for the club.
