Sarri:Ross Barkley has all it takes to become a ‘great player’

Ross Barkley was one of the best players on the pitch on Sunday afternoon as Chelsea beat Southampton 3-0.

After the game Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri was full of praise for the England midfielder. ‘He has quality, very important qualities in the physical and [technical] point of view’ Speaking after Chelsea’s win over Southampton, Sarri stated: “[Barkley] played very well. I am really happy with him. “From the beginning he has improved day by day, week by week and match by match, so I am very happy with him and for him, for the goal, for the national team. But you have to improve from the tactical point of view, but now he has improved [tactically]. “I don’t know, but potentially, he is a great player. “He has quality, very important qualities in the physical and [technical] point of view. Now he is improving in the tactical point of view. He will become a very important player in England and for the national team.”

However, Barkley struggled for both fitness and form while Antonio Conte was in charge. Since Sarri took over at Chelsea though, Barkley has been improving steadily. But Barkley’s best game under Sarri was definitely vs Southampton on Sunday. Barkley would set up Eden Hazard in the 30th minute to give Chelsea the lead. Barkley would then get on the scoresheet himself in the 57th minute grabbing Chelsea’s second.
