Morata And Fabregas To Start: Chelsea Vs Videoton,sarri expected to make few changes

Chelsea will entertain Videoton at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night looking to get another win in the UEFA Europa League. The Blues of London already managed to get a hard-fought victory against PAOK last month and could consolidate their position at the top of their group with a win against Videoton this week. Maurizio Sarri is expected to make a lot of changes for this European encounter after his side put on a tireless performance versus Liverpool on Saturday. The Italian manager might opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could ask Alvaro Morata to lead the line for the home team up top.

Defence

Willy Caballero might make a rare start in Sarri’s first-team for this UEFA Europa League match against Videoton. The Argentine goalie has patiently waited for his chance and could replace Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal on Thursday night. The 36-year-old shot-stopper has a lot of experience of playing at the top level so he should provide a safe pair of hands at Stamford Bridge in midweek. Maurizio Sarri could opt to start with Andreas Christensen and Gary Cahill in defence and hand both Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz some much-deserved rest. Davide Zappacosta could fill in as a makeshift left-back while Victor Moses would look to use his blistering pace on the right side of the Chelsea backline.

Midfield

Cesc Fabregas could be brought back to the Chelsea midfield as he did not feature in last weekend’s league clash against Liverpool. Both Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater might accompany the Spanish midfielder at the centre of the pitch. The trio would need to perform well under pressure and establish Chelsea’s dominance in front of the club’s loyal supporters in midweek.

Attack

The likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have hardly featured under Sarri this season. The duo could get an opportunity to impress on Thursday night alongside Alvaro Morata, who would spearhead the Pensioners’ attack.

Both Olivier Giroud and Eden Hazard is expected to start on the bench and might come on during the game versus Videoton if required. However, Pedro is a significant doubt for this clash and could miss out on the night.
