The Spanish forward is currently getting used to life under new boss Sarri at Stamford Bridge after the Italian manager’s appointment as Antonio Conte’s successor last month. Morata, 25, started and played the full 90 minutes for Chelsea FC in their 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener on Saturday, but the Spanish forward was unable to find the net for Sarri’s men. Morata will be hoping to start and score for Chelsea FC when the Blues host Arsenal in their next Premier League game on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri feels that Morata has been showing plenty of promise but admits that the forward now needs to step his game up and start converting his chances. Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Sarri said: “Against Huddersfield I think he was better than in pre-season. “He needs to score, but every striker in the world needs to score. “In the first half we had a problem pressing against their three defenders and it was a surprise for us because in pre-season Huddersfield had played 4-2-3-1, so this was their first time with three defenders and I had some problem in the first part of the game because of this.” Chelsea FC are getting ready to host Arsenal on Saturday as they look to make it two wins from their opening two games.
The Gunners slipped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat by Manchester City in their first Premier League game under Unai Emery at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
