Ramos caused controversy in last season's final after his clash with Salah forced the Egyptian off with a shoulder injury Sergio Ramos and Mohamed Salah had a very awkward reunion on Thursday evening. The Real Madrid defender outraged Liverpool fans far and wide for his challenge on Salah in last season’s Champions League final. Ramos hoists the Champions League trophy in May It led to the Egyptian being forced off early with a shoulder injury and Real went on to complete a 3-1 victory. One Liverpool fan started a petition to try and get Ramos banned from football after the incident, while Jurgen Klopp described Ramos as “ruthless and brutal” following the incident.
And Salah showed he was in no mood to forgive the Spaniard at the Champions League draw in Monaco on Thursday. Ramos was seated behind Salah and, after picking up the prize for best Champions League defender in 2017/18, tapped Salah on his left shoulder – the one he injured. While others around him congratulated Ramos, Salah didn’t even acknowledge him.
