Eden Hazard's dad accepts the Chelsea star may now "never end up" at Real Madrid.

The Blues have received a boost to their hopes of tying down brilliant winger from his dad Thierry. In December Hazard senior claimed his son had turned down a new Chelsea contract to increase his chances of a move to the Bernabeu. But Chelsea are planning to revive their attempts to keep Hazard and offer him a £300,000-per-week deal. Madrid are long-term admirers and Hazard has flirted with the Spanish giants but he has ultimately remained at Stamford Bridge.

Thierry Hazard said:

"I cannot say why it did not go through. Not because I do not want to but because I do not know. "Next year, Eden will have one year left on his contract but perhaps he never ends up in Madrid." Zinedine Zidane was a big fan of Hazard and the feeling was mutual but the three-times winning Champions League winning boss has now left Madrid.

Hazard Sr added:

"It maybe that it was a different story with Zidane. "But then he will have had his reasons to leave."
