Eden Hazard has warned Liverpool FC and Tottenham that Chelsea FC are going to give everything they have to try and break back into the top four this season.
The Blues kept alive their hopes of finishing in the top four this season when they sealed a 1-0 win over Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge thanks to Olivier Giroud’s first-half goal at Stamford Bridge. The west London side will move level on points with third-placed Liverpool FC if they beat Huddersfield in midweek, although the Reds do have a superior goal difference to the Blues. Chelsea FC will then take on Newcastle United in their final game of the season away from home next weekend. And Hazard, 27, has insisted that the Blues will keep fighting for Champions League qualification as the season reaches its climax.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s game, Hazard said:
“It is not in our hands. “It does not only depend on us but we will play, we will hopefully win and then we will see the results of Tottenham and Liverpool and we will give everything. “This [beating Liverpool] is a massive result. Now the target is just to win and be in the top four at the end of the season, and if we play like this the last three games, we can have something special at the end of the season. “Let’s hope for something big. We all work together and when we play this kind of game, it is a good feeling after the game.”
Chelsea FC are also still aiming to end the season with a trophy and they will take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final at the end of the month. The Blues won the Premier League title in style in Antonio Conte’s first campaign at the club last season, but they have struggled to find consistent form this term.
