Ahead of his formal declaration for the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship ticket in Ekiti state, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has released his manifesto.

This came as a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Otunba Segun Adewale decried the non payment of bursary allowance by the Ekiti State government in the last five years. Ojudu, in the manifesto, titled: “My Agenda for Life More Meaningful for Ekiti People”, said he envisions ‘a prosperous state where more value would be added to the lives of the people. The manifesto, in a statement by Mr Bunmi Dipo-Salami, Team Lead, Policy, Research & Resource Development of OJUDU 2018 Working Group, covers a wide range of economic and social development issues addressed to overcoming the manifestations of poor governance and challenges in Ekiti State over the years.
According to Ojudu, “these challenges are traceable to a myriad of causative and consequential factors bordering on lack of capacity for public governance; endemic poverty; neglect; and the culture of entitlement.” Meanwhile, Segun Adewale, in a lecture titled: ‘Entrepreneurship: A sustainability to the economy of Ekiti’, held at the TI Francis auditorium, FUTA, Adewale said “No one is born poor. The difference between poverty and prosperity is our perspective and approach. You can’t grow beyond your believe. You must first destroy every sense of poverty to be successful.” The event which attracted several Ekiti students across other institutions witnessed complaint about non payment of bursary allowance by Ekiti State Government for about 5 years. Adewale, who donated N1million to the students, said this when the Federation of Ekiti Students Union, FESU, of Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, Ondo State chapter honoured him at the weekend.
