Anfield expects. And another cracker is in store.
Liverpool come up against Tottenham Hotspur in a real humdinger in the race for a top-four berth. The Reds were well beaten at Wembley back in October, thrashed 4-1. Jurgen Klopp's side, then, will have a sense of revenge in mind when they step out against Mauricio Pochettino's men.
Team news
Klopp faces a few selection posers, although Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana are both out. Loris Karius is expected to remain between the sticks, but the big decision is at centre-back where Virgil van Dijk is hopeful of a recall having been benched in the 3-0 win at Huddersfield Town in midweek. Both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gini Wijnaldum will also be pressing for a recall in midfield.
Klopp on the Firmino v Kane comparison
And he is interesting here when comparing the two - who go head to head at Anfield today. “If you see Harry Kane playing, he is all over the pitch, he is getting the ball deep. “Of all the strikers we have in England, they are the most similar – they’re everywhere. “Harry is more coming from the 9 and a little bit on the 10 while Roberto is coming from the 10 and doing a bit more but is also a 9, he’s just so important for us.”
