Another 6 more person's killed in Benue in herdsmen’s attack on monday

six(6)more persons were reportedly killed, on Monday, and many others injured, in an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Waku Village in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. Council Chairman of Guma, Hon. Anthony Shawon, who disclosed this during a press briefing organised by Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni at the state police headquarters , on Monday. The council boss who lamented the incessant attacks on his local government since the beginning of the year wondered how the armed invaders were usually able to penetrate the heavy security mounted by Nigerian Army along the boarder line of Nasarawa and Benue to come and launch attacks on his people. He, however, commended the state police command for always swiftly responding to distress calls from his area as well as increasing the number of policemen and logistics to curb the menace of the invaders in his council area. Earlier, the Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, who restated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to ending the attacks in Benue disclosed that 15 more units of mobile police squadrons from other states had been deployed to the state in addition to those on ground before now. He disclosed further that the Non Commissioned Officer who was declared missing after police repealed some armed militia numbering over 200 in Yogbo community of Guma had been found and reunited with his other colleagues with his weapon intact. He posited that efforts are in top gear to ensure that the deserted communities are cleared of all criminal elements as soon as possible so that the displaced villagers can return to their communities as soon as possible.
