Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils have been battling Manchester City for the Chilean’s signature but the Daily Star claim United have seen off competition to sign him. United will pay the Gunners £40m for Sanchez, who is out of contract in the summer, while Mkhitaryan will move to north London in the opposite direction. Arsenal are also on the lookout for further attacking reinforcements and want Borussia Dortmund Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month. Arsenal chiefs have reportedly held talks with Aubauemyang and are confident about securing a £60m for the Gabon international. Arsene Wenger admitted yesterday he was resigned to losing Sanchez and called for a replacement to be found. Asked if Sanchez’s exit was imminent, Wenger said: “Yes, don’t read too much in it because even I don’t know which way it will go. “What you want to focus on is the players on the pitch who can do well for the club. “If Sanchez goes, we need to replace him. When you look today we missed many players today. If he goes, we have to respond.”
