Alexis Sanchez has agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract at Manchester United, where he’ll earn a colossal £14million per year after tax, The Telegraph is reporting. Now, the Chile star is waiting to find out whether Henrikh Mkhitaryan will switch to Arsenal, that’ll trigger Sanchez’s move to Old Trafford. With all things considered, the 29-year-old will cost the Red Devils a huge £120million, which is an amount that our cross-city rivals weren’t willing to pay – although that’s baffling to me when they happily splashed £50million to bring John Stones in, but that’s for another day entirely. When a player of Sanchez’s calibre becomes available, you pay whatever it takes to get him in. He’s genuinely world-class, and up there amongst the best players in the country. From a United point of view, what’s not to love about this deal? I simply cannot wait for him to get started. He’ll score goals for fun, put in a shift for the team and aid us both domestically and in Europe as he isn’t cup-tied. Not only that, he’ll be tied down for the best years of his career, and no doubt he’ll be lighting up Old Trafford over the next four seasons.
