Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has said that his Chelsea side have faced a number of "problems" this season.
The Blues' attempts to retain the Premier League title won at a canter in 2016/17 hasn't gone the way anyone at the club would have hoped for as they currently trail leaders Manchester City by 15 points and aren't assured of a place in the top four. Furthermore, top scorer Alvaro Morata - signed from Real Madrid for a huge transfer fee last summer to replace Diego Costa - has gone off the boil in recent weeks, David Luiz has lost his place in the side and Conte's decision to withdraw Eden Hazard in recent games has been met with confusion amongst some supporters. On top of that the west London outfit are yet to win a game across any competition in 2018 and have now gone three successive games without scoring - a first in the club's history - following Saturday's goalless draw against Leicester City. For the first time in Conte's reign at the club, boos greeted the players at Stamford Bridge at the weekend and the Italian has called on supporters to be patient with him as well as the players. “My answer (to the booing) is this... we are doing 120 per cent and want to try to do our best," he told reporters. “But, I repeat, you can win, you can lose. The most important thing is to put all your strength on the pitch. You have to consider, we are facing a lot of problems. "Despite this, we stay there – battling for the top four." There's been similarities this term to that of the Blues' disastrous 2015/16 season after they had won the league the year before.
