The Chile international is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to leave the Emirates imminently. Manchester United are closing in on the forward despite long-term interest from their rivals Manchester City. And Match of the Day pundits Danny Murphy and Alan Shearer have questioned what is going on at Arsenal. As well as Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere are out of contract in the summer. Murphy said on MOTD2: “Sanchez and Ozil are going to go.
“I don’t understand after Van Persie went to United and won them the league and they let Fabregas go how they keep letting their players get to this situation. “The club seems all over the place like their performances.” Newcastle hero Shearer believes Wenger could be about to undo all his good work at the club. He added: “For all the great work Arsene has done for Arsenal financially over the years, a lot of that could be undone in the next four or five months. “How on earth you can let three players get to the end of their contract who can leave for nothing? “If they get £30m for Sanchez, they might get that, they’re losing 50 or 60, they should have sold him a year ago because the current market value is about £90m.” Following their loss to Bournemouth yesterday, Arsenal are now eight points behind Chelsea who sit fourth.
