The Chelsea talisman has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu in recent months. Hazard was tipped to join Real in the summer but a move didn’t materialise after the Belgium international broke his ankle. And according to Spanish newspaper AS, citing Radio Montecarlo, the winger has rejected contract offers from Chelsea as he has his heart set on joining Real. They claim Hazard has snubbed two offers of bumper deals, which would have seen him become the highest paid player in the Premier League (£15.5m per year). AS add that the Belgium star, who is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2020, knows Real will table a bid for him in the summer. Hazard reportedly dreams of playing at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane, his idol when he was growing up. Real have had a hit-and-miss season under Zidane this time out. The Spanish champions are 16 points behind Barcelona in La Liga this campaign. Hazard’s father, Thierry, revealed last month that the Chelsea star could be holding out for a move to Real. “What I can reveal about Eden is that he refused a contract extension,” he said. “This was so that, if necessary, he could follow the interest of Real, whom he could see himself playing for.
“As of right now, there is no contact from Real Madrid. Eden is only one of the parties involved in his future.”
