Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has completed a loan move to Cardiff City, according to an image on Twitter.
The Cardiff City Mad fan account uploaded an image on the social media site that showed the giant Serbian midfielder putting pen to paper while surrounded by the club’s hierarchy, including manager Neil Warnock. This comes after widespread reports that Cardiff were closing in on the signing of Grujic, 21, on a deal that runs until the end of the season. The four-times Serbia international has made just six senior Liverpool appearances this season and only 14 in total since completing a £5.1million transfer from Red Star Belgrade in 2016.

Grujic does not completely fit the prototype of the player Warnock was after, who was said to be battle-hardened and with experience of winning promotion to the Premier League before. But he certainly fits the bill in terms of the style of play Warnock wants – tall, strong, aggressive, dominant in the engine room, box to box, good range of passing, ferocious shot and an ability to get goals. Warnock had identified an unnamed, more experienced midfield player, but loves what Grujic can offer and believes he is a better signing. If Cardiff land Grujic it will represent something of a coup for Vincent Tan and the Bluebirds hierarchy. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to send his highly-rated young midfielder out on loan to get regular football, and a glut of clubs have enquired. These have included Premier League duo West Ham and Huddersfield, as well as Cardiff, Aston Villa and Boro from the top end of the Championship. Turkish giants Galtasaray have also made a move for Grujic.
