Antonio Conte faces another selection headache ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup fourth-round clash with Newcastle United after Alvaro Morata, Thibaut Courtois and Willian were ruled out through injury. Morata (back) and Courtois (ankle) both missed the Blues' EFL Cup semi-final second leg tie against Arsenal on Wednesday night with their respective issues, and remain sidelined for this weekend's home match against Rafael Benitez's side. Willian will also be forced to sit out due to the hamstring injury he sustained in the 2-1 defeat to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium. The good news, however, is that Cesc Fabregas - who did not play against Arsenal due to a hamstring problem - could feature but faces a late fitness test on Saturday.
When asked how long Morata and Courtois could be sidelined for, Conte told reporters on Friday: "I don't know.
"It's difficult to tell today how many days they need to come back [from their injuries]. Morata has this problem in his back and Courtois took a kick in his ankle. "Fabregas trained today and tomorrow I will check his condition and form. "Willian is out...he had a scan to evaluate his injury, but I don't think we are talking about a serious injury." Willian's injury could mean Ross Barkley starting against Newcastle after the midfielder made his debut as a replacement for the Brazilian against Arsenal.
