Manchester United have put their derby day horror show behind them with back-to-back wins in the two games since. Jose Mourinho’s men are having a good season by all accounts, and they shouldn’t let themselves be disappointed – it’s just that City are playing so well. An away game at West Bromwich Albion is never easy, and the Red Devils picked up all three points in the end. Alright, the manner in which they sat back as the game wore on was slightly concerning, but they won which is the most important thing. It was pleasing to see Romelu Lukaku put in another dominant performance, particularly in the air as he bullied Kieran Gibbs to score United’s opener with a stunning header. His overall play was much-improved, too. I was impressed with his ability to hold the ball up and bring United into play. On top of that, he also shown the energy and desire to stretch the opposing defence as the game wore on. Many were left talking about his lack of a celebration following scoring, but in my opinion, that’s the perfect attitude to have. He’s not happy sitting in second place, and the Belgian is doing all he can to right those wrongs from the City loss.
