Man City head to the Liberty Stadium tonight after opening up an 11 point lead at the top of the Premier League. A controversial 2-1 win against Old Trafford on Sunday extended the Citizens winning run to a record 14 games. And they can create a new record by beating Swansea.
A visit from Pep Guardiola’s swaggering side could not have come at a worse time for Swansea. Despite picking up a valuable 1-0 win over West Brom at the weekend Paul Clement’s side sit in 19th position in the table and have scored just nine goals in 16 games. Man City captain Vincent Kompany suffered yet another injury setback in the Manchester derby, which forced his withdrawal at half-time. With John Stones and Benjamin Mendy still unavailable, Guardiola could start Fernandinho at centre-back after using him alongside Nicolas Otamendi in the second-half against United. Eliaquim Mangala remains an option for Guardiola in defence but seems to be out of favour with Guardiola.
Sergio Aguero is expected to be rotated into the side in place of Gabriel Jesus, and if Fernandinho drops back into defence İlkay Gündoğan will be drafted into midfield.
