The January transfer window is about to open in a matter of days and clubs are scrambling to seal any new signings.
The news from Liverpool’s camp is that Jurgen Klopp is set to plan for the rest of the season without the presence of Daniel Sturridge. The manager has reportedly told the player he’s free to join another club come January, according to a report in Ibtimes. Sturridge’s impact in the Liverpool team has diminished featuring in only five Premier League games for the Merseyside club this season. The 28-year-old’s hopes of playing at the upcoming World Cup may be in the air if he stays at Liverpool without getting enough playing time. Several clubs have been linked to the former Chelsea star in January with Valencia and Real Betis reportedly leading the chase at the moment. The striker’s current wage of £150,000-a-week might be a stumbling block for potential suitors.
Klopp’s to stick with his attacking trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino has made it more difficult for the Englishman at Anfield. New arrival Dominic Solanke has also pushed Sturridge down the pecking order. So, all things considered, the best option for the striker is to seek a new adventure outside Anfield.
