After back-to-back draws at home and abroad, can Liverpool get back to winning ways this evening? The Bet365 Stadium has been relatively kind to them in recent years - we'll ignore that shelling under Brendan Rodgers in 2015 for the time being - and how Jurgen Klopp and his side could do with a positive result this evening. A win takes them above Spurs - dear, darling Tottenham - in the Premier League table. But a wet Wednesday in Stoke is never the easiest thing to traverse. Even Lionel Messi would struggle with that, apparently.
Team news
Liverpool are expected to give starts to Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, both of whom were rested against Chelsea on Saturday. Emre Can is back available after a minor injury, while Dejan Lovren is 'close' according to Jurgen Klopp. Adam Lallana will be part of the squad though he is unlikely to start. Stoke are without Jack Butland and Geoff Cameron, while Glen Johnson is a doubt to face his former club.
