DONALD Trump has been accused of “devaluing” the Presidential office by Barak Obama’s former vice president Joe Biden. The veteran politician hit out at the Republican leader's earlier remarks, calling North Korea’s Kim Jong-un “short and fat”, and claimed it was having a negative impact on the US’ international image. Mr Biden accused the US President of going against “common decency” with his remarks. He said: "Our leaders have impact on attitudes.

Mr Biden accused the US President of going against “common decency” with his remarks. He said: "Our leaders have impact on attitudes. Taking offence to the remark Trump responded on Twitter. He said: “Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!”
Tensions between North Korea and the US have risen in recent months as Mr Trump and his Korean counter-part have taken part in a war of words. Addressing the UN in October Trump called Kim Jon-un “rocket man on a suicide mission” and vowed to “totally destroy” the corrupt nation. Referring to the US leader’s threats Mr Biden warned that his country should be setting an example.
He said: "We are admired not just for the exercise of our power, but the power of our example.” He added: ”It matters, the way we conduct our discourse. “It matters, the way in which we talk."
