Manchester United will look to returning ways when they host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday. Jose Mourinho’s side suffered a 1-0 Champions League defeat to FC Basel during the final minutes of the game, and the manager will want a strong response against the Seagulls, where he will feature most of his regulars, who missed the midweek game.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Lineup:
Spanish shot-stopper has been in splendid form for Manchester United this term, keeping eight clean sheets in 12 Premier League matches. He is certain to start in goal. Eric Bailly is a touch-and-go for the Brighton clash, and his absence could potentially see Marcos Rojo make his first top-flight appearance of the campaign alongside Chris Smalling in central defence. Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young played no part in the midweek defeat to Basel, and the pair could be fancied to retain their positions at right-back and left-back respectively.
Marouane Fellaini made his first start for United since recovering from a knee injury in midweek, and he could be paired alongside Nemanja Matic, who has been a revelation at the heart of United’s midfield. Mourinho opted to play Paul Pogba in an advanced midfield role versus Basel, and we are backing him to start in a similar position versus Brighton to impose himself on the proceedings.
Other than this, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial could be picked once more to start on either side of Pogba, while Romelu Lukaku is guaranteed his spot up front despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury comeback.
