Raheem Sterling diverted in a fortunate winner as Manchester City came from behind to move eight points clear at the top with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Huddersfield.
The England winger saw Sergio Aguero's shot rebound onto him and into the net six minutes from time after the Argentine's penalty had pulled the Citizens level immediately after the interval. Huddersfield had stunned Pep Guardiola's side by edging in front at the break after Nicolas Otamendi diverted a corner into his own net.
The Terriers defended valiantly throughout a contest completely dominated by City, but they couldn't repeat the heroics that saw them beat Manchester United on home turf as Pep Guardiola's men claimed a record 11th straight league success on the road. The hosts' disappointment was compounded right at the death when Rajiv van La Parra was sent off following an incident involving Leroy Sane. The result means City are now 26 games unbeaten as they continue to shine at the summit, while Huddersfield are in 11th place after falling to only their second defeat at the John Smith's Stadium.
