After going into one-week hiding, an Owerri landlord, Mr. Paul Oparaugo, who alongside his family stabbed his tenant, Udochukwu Iwuoha, to death, has been arrested by the Imo State Police Command.
The state Police Commissioner, Mr. Chris Ezike, said that Oparaugo was arrested alongside one of his sons, Ogbonna Victor in Owerri. Udochukwu was killed by the suspects when he protested the offensive smell into his room from a poultry owned by the landlord. Until the incident, the landlord, Oparaugo was a security officer in one of the new generation banks in Owerri, the state capital.
Residents were shocked to see Udochukwu lying in the pool of his blood, badly stabbed and abandoned in the building while the landlord and his family members took to their heels. According to Ezike, the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID) and the Owerri Urban Police Division worked together to achieve the feat.
