
While not at their scintillating best, United took their place in the last eight of the competition with a 2-0 win away to Swansea. Jesse Lingard weighed in with a double to make it a relatively comfortable night's work at the Liberty Stadium for Jose Mourinho’s men. Arsenal, however, had more of a bumpy ride at the Emirates against Norwich. They had to come from behind before Arsene Wenger’s side prevailed 2-1 in extra time thanks to a double from teenager Edward Nkeitah. 

Meanwhile, Leicester proved too strong for Leeds as they romped to a 3-1 victory at the King Power Stadium. Elsewhere, Bournemouth took their place in the next round of the League Cup, making light work of Middlesbrough, as they thrashed the Championship outfit 3-1. Manchester City had a rocky evening against Wolves. 

Pep Guardiola's men were pushed hard and taken to penalties by the Midlands outfit. But Sergio Aguero made no mistake as he cleverly clipped in the winning spot kick as City advanced to the next round with. Crystal Palace’s miserable season meanwhile, continued with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Bristol City.
