The deployment of soldiers to the South-East in an operation codenamed Operation Python Dance II has continued to gain traction among Nigerians. Just yesterday, September 13, a video surfaced online of some soldiers torturing suspected members of the Indigenious People of Biafra (IPOB) in Abia State, while also making them swim in muddy water. Last Sunday, it was reported that the Afaraukwu country home of Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader was invaded by soldiers who also allegedly shot dead some of the group’s members. Nnamdi Kanu has also threatened to return fire with fire by re-considering the non-violent stance of the pro-secessionist group. Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu on his part has extended the three-day curfew he imposed on Tuesday till tomorrow, September 15.
