The National Rifle Association (NRA) has warned New York Times journalists that "We're coming for you" in its latest provocative recruitment video. Conservative pundit Dana Loesch threatened the paper with a "shot across your proverbial bow" in the 54-second clip, during which she claimed "we, the people, have had it ... with your narratives, your propaganda, your fake news". She accused the paper of being "tone-deaf" as, over an accompaniment of ominous strings, she warned reporters the NRA would "laser-focus on your so called 'honest pursuit of truth'". It was apparently prompted by the Times' reporting from the Donald Trump White House, with a string of reports based on leaks from administration staffers that have angered the President. A similar video attacked The Washington Post earlier this year. Ms Loesch, an NRA spokeswoman, was criticised earlier this year for a similar video attacking an unnamed "they" in the US media of inciting protesters to violence and "assassinating real news". In the latest clip, she accused the Times of "constant protection of your Democrat overlords". Hostility toward journalists was a frequent feature of Mr Trump's campaign rallies and has remained a prominent theme for his supporters and officials, who dismiss unfavorable reports as "fake news."
