According to reports making the rounds online, Niger Delta Militants have vowed to storm Lagos on the day the IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu will visit the city. Kanu had announced last week that he will soon visit Nigeria’s commercial capital. A statement made by the spokesman of the Militants, Akwa Akpa reads: “We will accompany you to Lagos State, Nnamdi Kanu. We will see to it that your safety is assured. Lagos is too small to hit a stone, talk more of attacking you. If anything as such happens, we will not only set Lagos ablaze; we will ruin the land that their next generation will not, anymore remember there was a city called Lagos. We will go with you in peace, but hell is with us.” In reaction to the development, a respondent said: “I don’t think Nigeria will survive this call for a break up, as many group and tribe, even out of Biafra extraction are supporting the call for self-determination and for every tribe to go their separate ways.” “The recent statement made by the Militants will go forth to relieve people from tension and fear, as they have declared to go with Nnamdi Kanu on his tour to Lagos State.” Ever since the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu made the statement that he will embark on a tour to Lagos, there have been a wild rage of fear gripping the masses; some have beckoned that the visit will cause more harm than good, while others pondered that he should not go to a land other than Biafran land. But overwhelming majority of IPOB members are in strong support for the visit.
