BY now, anyone with the internet will have seen Beyoncé’s twin pregnancy announcement back in February. The singer captioned the image of her baby bump reveal: “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters.” Now, Beyoncé has revealed the first image of her new twins, Sir and Rumi Carter, in a photoshoot featuring the star in a Palomo Spain dress, holding her newborn twins in front of a flower display. But what's next for the man behind internet-breaking images?
The brains behind the surprise pregnancy post - and the series of Botticelli-esque photos, later revealed on the star's website - was artist Awol Erizku. The Ethiopian-born artist was raised in the Bronx and is known for his vibrant works, drawing inspiration from cultural and societal stimuli, including hip hop and the current political climate. References of fine art, pop culture and even social media can be seen reflected in his work.
